9-Day Private Yucatán Coast-to-Coast Tour

Day 1 – Arrival in Cancún | Welcome to the Mexican Caribbean

• Upon arrival at Cancún International Airport, meet a MexicoTopTravel representative and transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to your selected hotel in Cancún.
• Depending on the arrival time, the remainder of the day will be available to rest, enjoy the hotel facilities or take a relaxed walk along the beach.
• Travelers arriving earlier may add a panoramic introduction to Cancún, a visit to a local market or an optional welcome dinner overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

Day 2 – Catamaran Experience to Isla Mujeres

• After breakfast, transfer to the marina and prepare for a Caribbean sailing experience to Isla Mujeres.
• Sail across turquoise waters aboard a catamaran and enjoy the coastal scenery between Cancún and the island. Depending on the selected package and sea conditions, the experience may include snorkeling, music, refreshments, lunch and time to relax on board.
• Upon arrival at Isla Mujeres, enjoy free time near the beach or explore part of the island’s relaxed center, small shops and local restaurants.
• The catamaran excursion may be arranged on a shared basis or upgraded to a private boat experience for families and exclusive groups.
• Return to Cancún during the afternoon.

Day 3 – Xel-Há Natural Water Park and Transfer to the Riviera Maya

• After breakfast, depart south along the Riviera Maya for a full-day experience at Xel-Há. This natural water attraction combines lagoons, inlets, jungle paths and aquatic activities in a setting suited to families, couples and active travelers. Visitors may enjoy snorkeling, swimming, floating experiences, scenic walks and time to relax in designated areas.
• Meals and selected activities may be included depending on the entrance package chosen.
• At the end of the visit, continue to a hotel in Tulum, Playa del Carmen or another selected location along the Riviera Maya.

Day 4 – Tulum Archaeological Site and Riviera Maya Beaches

• Begin the day with a professionally guided visit to Tulum, one of the most visually impressive archaeological sites in the Mexican Caribbean.
• Discover the history of this ancient Maya settlement and admire its privileged position overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Your guide will explain the importance of the site, its principal structures and its role within the coastal trade networks of the Maya world.
• After the archaeological visit, continue to a selected beach area for time to relax, swim or enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
• Depending on traveler preferences, the afternoon may include free time in Tulum, a visit to a cenote, snorkeling or a stop in Playa del Carmen.

Overnight: Tulum or the Riviera Maya.

Day 5 – Cobá, Cenote Experience and Colonial Valladolid

• After breakfast, leave the Caribbean coast and travel inland toward Cobá.
• Explore this extensive Maya archaeological zone surrounded by tropical vegetation and ancient pathways. The visit provides a different perspective from Tulum and Chichén Itzá, revealing how important Maya cities developed within the forests and interior landscapes of the peninsula.
• Continue to a selected cenote for an opportunity to swim in the clear underground waters for which Yucatán is famous.
• The day may also include lunch in a local community or regional restaurant, providing an introduction to traditional Yucatecan flavors and contemporary Maya life.
• In the afternoon, continue to Valladolid, one of the peninsula’s most attractive colonial cities. After checking in, enjoy free time to walk around the main square, visit local shops or dine at a traditional restaurant.

Day 6 – Río Lagartos Nature Reserve and Las Coloradas

• Depart Valladolid for the northern coast of the peninsula and the fishing community of Río Lagartos.
• Board a small local boat for a guided journey through the mangroves, waterways and coastal ecosystems of the reserve. Depending on the season and natural conditions, travelers may observe flamingos, herons, pelicans and other regional wildlife.
• Continue toward Las Coloradas, known for its unusual salt-production landscapes and distinctive pink-colored waters. Access and observation points may vary according to local regulations and operating conditions.
• Enjoy an optional seafood lunch in Río Lagartos before returning to Valladolid.
• This day combines nature, photography, local coastal life and an important contrast to the archaeological and beach experiences included elsewhere in the itinerary.

Day 7 – Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Arrival in Mérida

• After breakfast, depart for Chichén Itzá, one of the most significant archaeological destinations in Mexico.
• Explore the ceremonial center with a professional guide and learn about the architectural, astronomical, political and religious importance of this extraordinary Maya city.
• The visit normally includes the principal monuments and plazas, such as the Temple of Kukulcán, the Great Ball Court, the Temple of the Warriors and the surrounding ceremonial structures.
• Afterward, continue to a selected cenote for swimming and lunch. The exact cenote may be chosen according to operating conditions, group profile and the desired level of visitor traffic.
• In the afternoon, travel toward Mérida. An optional stop in Izamal may be incorporated when timing allows.
• Arrive in Mérida and check in at the selected hotel. The evening will be free to begin exploring the historic center and its restaurants.

Day 8 – Uxmal and the Cultural Heritage of Mérida

• Depart Mérida for Uxmal, one of the most elegant and architecturally distinctive Maya cities in the region.
• Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, explore its monumental plazas, detailed stone decoration and principal structures, including the Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery Quadrangle and the Governor’s Palace.
• The day may also include a regional lunch, a visit to a traditional hacienda, a chocolate experience or another attraction along the Ruta Puuc, depending on the interests of the travelers.
• Return to Mérida during the afternoon.
• Later, enjoy free time in the historic center or add a privately guided walking tour. Suggested places include Plaza Grande, the Cathedral, Casa de Montejo, Paseo de Montejo and neighborhoods known for their colonial architecture and cultural atmosphere.

Day 9 – Progreso Beach and Departure

• After breakfast, travel north from Mérida to Progreso, one of the principal beach destinations on the Gulf coast of Yucatán.
• Enjoy a final opportunity to relax beside the sea, walk along the waterfront and experience the more local coastal atmosphere that distinguishes Progreso from the resort areas of the Mexican Caribbean.
• Depending on the departure schedule, travelers may enjoy lunch at a beachfront seafood restaurant or add time for swimming, shopping or a short panoramic visit.
• At the appropriate time, transfer to Mérida International Airport, a Mérida hotel or another agreed location.
• Travelers continuing toward Cancún may request a private transfer or additional overnight stay.
