 Puerto de Veracruz, located on the banks of the city and across its beaches you will find part of one of Mexico´s most important coral reefs for its size and number of species.
The Veracruz Coral System has a dimension of 52,238ha and is made up of islands, islets and 17 corals of which 11 are found in front of Antón Lizardo and the rest across Puerto de Veracruz, which are elevated from a depth of close to 40 m.
In this area, divers are offered interesting and adequate places for inmersion of all types. Among some of the most interesting places for diving are: Gallega, Galleguilla, Anegada de Adentro, La Blanquilla, Ingeniero, Sacrificios, Hornos, Pájaros, Punta Gorda and Isla Verde.
Of most interest for divers are the 350 sunken ships among the coral formations; El Rielero, Ana Helena y Rivapalacio. El Puerro de Veracruz has a variety of beaches like Villa del Mar, Playón de Hornos, Costa de Oro and Mocambo.
