 For those that love climbing and for those that enjoy emotions, you will have the opportunity to practice this sports modality in Mexico City. In its surroundings there are entertainment circuits for beginners and experienced with excellent walls of natural and artificial rocks, capable of testing the experts. To practice rappel there are a series of walls like Santo Tomás de los Plátanos, Jilotepec, Jocotitlán, Temascalcingo, Tenancingo, Tepotzotlán, Temascaltepec and Tejupilco.
Another area is Cantil, a classical route for the city, located in the Miguel Bernard Avenue between Ticoman and Prolongacion Norte and consists of a large rock, ideal for traditional climbing of all types of levels.
In the university center of the UNAM short climbs and boulder type-walls or low hills, predominates the university center of UNAM. Its walls are basaltic rocks of volcanic origin and could be climbed during the year. The areas of most interest are the Olympic Stadium´s Gymnasium or Puma. In its walls you can practice boulder on a rock with excellent grip, and has a small natural rock theater to climb for beginners or expert; and the Law School or the “Techos”, home to several short walls with intermediate or advanced rises.
