The Descabezadero in the Actopan River, Veracruz

Approximately 40 kilometers from Xalapa, you will find the city of Actopan. Actopan was constructed on the shores of the river of the same name and is one of Mexico´s most beautiful rivers by its spectacular beginnings, its soft flow which will take you for 12 kilometers through an oasis of fruit trees and lots of waterfalls. It is an ideal spot to enjoy nature and to practice several sports modalities like rappel, descending the rapids, in addition to other fun activities like tarzan roping, diving and others. All this in the middle of a beautiful wild vegetation and a gorgeous mountain landscape which can be combined with other eco-tourism activities in the region. The city was site of an ancient prehispanic settlement where you can find the remains of two pyramids and ball field.

The Descabezadero, an area of the beginning of pure water, where the water falls from its volcanic rock formations, has a wall of approximately 45m high, ideal for the development of rappel activity.
