For those with a great spirit for adventures in the region of Jalcomulco, located 45 kilometers from Xalapa, it is one of the favorites spots for adventure sports and eco-tourism activities. The tour begins some 60 kilometers from Coatepec on path to Cosautlan de Benitez where you will find incrusted in the bottom of a gully the town of Barranca Grande. This requires several days in the region.

The tour is through the Barranca Grande canyon, where you can find pure and crystal clear water thawed from the Orizaba peak where the river originates. It goes into a canyon of large rapìds of class III, IV and even V in the middle of an incredible natural beauty, being this the only access to the river during the following days where a visitor can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls of up to 100 m, otters, toucan, giant one meter in diameter leaf, orchids, incredible flora and fauna which very few have had the luck to see.
