  Park Barranca de Oblatos-Huentican, Guadalajara

The ecological reserve of Barranca de Oblatos is located in Huentitan, to the North of Guadalajara and in the limits of the metropolitan area. Nowadays, the park shelters a great biological diversity, being considered the biogeographic corridor, since it represents four types of vegetation: tropical wood caducifolio, gallery woods, rupiculous vegetation and secondary vegetation. There are also several endemic flora and fauna species. You will be able to enjoy the great landscape which offers the 500 meter- deep gully. The river Santiago and its inflowing Rio Verde are in this gully too. This gully includes a sanctuary to the preservation of wild life which comprehends 40 acres of woods with over 360 species of animals.
This park is ideal for having ecological routes, camping, observation of flora, birds and for guided walks, summer courses among other activities. Other bonus attractions are the ruins of the ranch “La Casa Colorada “and the hanging bridge El Arcediano, which was built in 1893 and it constituted the entrance to Guadalajara at that time. Three viewpoints parks have been built in order to be able to appreciate all the magnitude of this natural wonder: the viewpoint of Huentitan, the park Mirador Independencia and the viewpoint Dr.Atl.
