 The volcano Citlaltepetl (still in activity), better known as Pico Orizaba was to the Aztecs a representation of Venus, the morning star. It is the highest summit in Mexico (5700 meters high above the seal level).
It is also the third highest in North America and it is found in Orizaba, to the Northern part of the State of Veracruz. You can practice climbing at the top part of the volcano where you will have a majestic view of other volcanoes: Iztaccihualt and Popocateplt and even a view of the curvature of the land. |
